Project Overview

Goal
Reimagine prescription management with an intuitive app that makes tracking, refills, and medication insights effortless—eliminating frustration and empowering users.

Task
Leverage research and design to create a seamless digital experience that simplifies prescription management.

What is Medvista Connect?
Medvista Connect makes managing prescriptions
easy, all in one place.
MedVista Connect, created by MedVista Pharmacy, is a user-friendly app that makes tracking and refilling medications effortless. It syncs with GoodRx, breaks down medication components, and offers 24/7 access to medical professionals.

Compare medication costs to find budget-friendly options tailored to users needs.

Users get fast prescription updates and simple ingredient info for safer medication use.
The Problem
Patients want accurate prescription tracking and ingredient clarity.
Many patients struggle to manage medications due to inconsistent tracking and unclear ingredients—leading to missed doses, uncertainty, and health risks.

Unreliable tracking makes it hard for patients to anticipate refills and deliveries.

Lack of ingredient clarity leaves patients unsure about allergens, interactions, or side effects.

Disclaimer: MedVista Connect is a conceptual project exploring solutions for prescription management. It has not been developed into a live app.

The Solution
A mobile app for tracking and securely managing prescriptions.
The solution enhances prescription management by ensuring patients can track deliveries, understand ingredients, and receive real-time updates, reducing confusion and improving accessibility.
My Design Process

A Patient’s Journey
From Doctor Visit to Prescription Pickup
This scenario outlines a patient's experience from reporting medication concerns to their doctor, receiving a new prescription, and using the MC app to track and understand their medication before picking it up at the pharmacy.

Research
Competitive Analysis
During competitive benchmarking, I created this table to compare existing prescription management solutions with MedVista Connect. It highlights gaps in current options and how MedVista offers a seamless, all-in-one experience.

User Interviews
3/5 users want a fast, easy way to track and know prescriptions.
During research I interviewed users via phone calls and asked questions to understand the pain points they experience in the the process of them managing their prescriptions, and took notes of their answers.
The users were all seniors above the age of 50 who had prescriptions ordered and were using them in the past week.
Insights & Takeaways
4/5 users preferred a quick, easy-to-use system rather than complex apps or multiple reminders.
2/5 users found it difficult to track when their next refill was due and worried about running out.

3/5 users wanted a simple way to check if they had already taken their medication for the day.
2/5 users mentioned that they don’t always check notifications, so they needed more reliable reminders.
User Persona
What do I know about the users of Medvista?

User's Process
The Patients Flow

Design Iterations
Low Fidelity Wireframes
From the user journey, I considered the most important screens featured in the user flow that are keys to the actions users are looking for using an app like MC.
Automatically logged prescription shipping, this page highlights to patients that their prescription is on the way along with dosage details, and allows them to input a tracking number to add a prescription to the list if they don’t see it on the way already.
Patients Prescription Portfolio, I ideated a slideshow experience where patients could swipe to see what physical prescriptions they had and the details of that prescription. Also, patients can compare and contrast specific pricing changes of similar prescriptions from different providers.
Branding Style Guide
MedVista’s branding blends trust, warmth, and accessibility for a user-friendly experience. Soothing blues, soft beige, and green convey reliability, while modern typography and icons ensure clarity across digital platforms

Final Design
High-Fidelity Screens
These high-fidelity screens simplify prescription management with clear tracking, easy comparisons, and quick access to details. Each design helps users stay informed and in control.

I identified issues in tracking and ingredient clarity. Users struggled with updates, so I designed clear interfaces for real-time tracking, ingredient descriptions, and a pharmacy home page for easy app discovery.
Why does this matter? Poor layouts cause missed doses and errors. By focusing on hierarchy and accessibility, I made key details easy to scan, helping users manage prescriptions confidently. A well-structured home page also boosts app awareness and adoption.
Cost Conscious
Comparing Cost
Users can compare their current prescription prices with other options to see cost differences and dollar changes.

Scaled Skimmability
Delivery Preview
Tagged cards on the tracking page help users find past deliveries, providing a reference for medications and making it easier to share their prescription history with their doctor.
Business Considerations
Success Metrics
If this were a real project, these key metrics would track success across the platform and its users. These metrics help MC pharmacies, and users by tracking key behaviors.

Refill Completion Rate
% of users successfully refilling prescriptions.

Medication Adherence
% of users taking meds on time with reminders.

User Retention
% of users still active after 30 days.

Support Requests
% reduction in user inquiries about tracking and ingredients.
Final Takeaways
Future Opportunities
Prescriptions are more than just a product—some patients rely on them for their health, and any friction can have serious consequences. While this project was conceptual, I’d love to explore further research to refine the prescription management experience. Many patients face barriers beyond tracking and ingredient clarity, such as difficulty picking up prescriptions, adding complexity to their care.
This project strengthened my ability to design solutions that address real user pain points. Small features—like doctors automatically linking prescriptions to a patient’s MedVista Connect account—make a big impact. For users like George, who depend on a seamless system, these thoughtful choices turn frustration into confidence.
What would I do differently next time?

1.
Further pain point exploration, if this were a real project, I believe interviews with more users would reveal deeper pain points. This would help me identify and prioritize additional improvements.
2.
More proprietary, to make MedVista more unique, I see an opportunity to use AI to personalize prescription profiles based on user data and preferences, enhancing its competitive edge.
